Interview with AL Waddington, Author of Enlightened (Book 2 of The Eve Series)

Continuing where Essence (EVE series #1) ended, the barrier between Jocelyn Timmons consciousness continues to dissolve as she better understands the two lives she lives and enormity of her newly discovered inherited gift of EVE (Essence Voyager Era) which allows her to fall asleep on one plane of existence and awaken on another as her soul travels nightly.

In Enlightened (EVE series #2), present-day Jocelyn uncovers the vast wonderment of the Victorian era but soon learns that life then was not as grand for women as she has read in the classics. Still, she finds comfort in the support of family and friends; a bolstering contrast to her overly hectic, career-oriented family in the twenty-first century. Her love for Jackson Chandler strengthens across time and becomes the light she so desperately needs as the world she has always known no longer makes sense. Yet, the closer she is drawn to Jackson by their mutual ability, the more strain develops amongst those she loves in 2009.

On the other side of Jocelyn’s consciousness in 1878, she remains ignorant of EVE. Her life is crumbling around her, yet she finds herself anxiously awaiting the images that invade her dreams. Jocelyn longs to be the woman she portrays in that world yet her jealousy is unbearable. Miscommunication, betrayal and hidden agendas make trust near impossible. The clearer the visions become the more she questions motives of her closest confidants and foregoes revealing the images that plague her perception. As her life seems to unravel, Jocelyn’s two worlds collide, and she is enlightened as the pieces start to fall into place. But is she strong enough to survive the truth? Is Jackson really her destiny? And can their love transcend time?

Author Interview with Bill Gourgey Part 2

I am incredibly excited to be interviewing Bill Gourgey of The Glide Trilogy. Bill’s interview was split into two parts with the first part broadcasting on March 13th.

The Glide Trilogy

Glide

The Prophet’s Revenge

In Glide, The Prophet’s Revenge, genius inventor Dr. Magigate (the Captain) must confront his shadowy legacy when innocent teen Maddy Langsley is kidnapped by an evil fugitive, the Prophet, Dr. Magigate’s erstwhile foe and lover. Thus begins the Glide Trilogy set in a future world dominated by the miraculous inventions of Dr. Magigate, chief among them Glide which controls gravity.

When Maddy and Mike trespass Knot Hall, a grand seaside estate that appears to be in ruin, they set in motion forces that have been pent up since the dark days of the Academy—a nefarious organization that brought civilization to the brink by unleashing war and plague in an attempt to control the dwindling natural resources of an ailing planet. The Prophet escapes her island prison and takes Maddy hostage just as the Neos. a new organization fashioned after the Academy, assert themselves by bending the considerable technologies of the future to their will—technologies largely devised by Captain Magigate. At last, the Captain must face not only the Prophet but also the ambiguous legacy of his inventions. Glide is a dark and quixotic look at what happens when invention reaches beyond its pale to compensate for the shortcomings of heart and soul.

Nu Logic
Rise of the Neos

In Nu Logic, Rise of the Neos, accomplished virologist, Dr. Janot (whose specialty is crossover pathogens that make the leap between organics, inorganics, hardware, and software), threatens the promising Glide era with his wildly popular augmented reality gaming world—Neology. Only the genius inventor, Captain Magigate, can stop him, but Magigate is lost in the past with his erstwhile lover and foe, the Prophet. Teenage artist Maddy’s cryptic paintings hold the key to reaching the Captain, but will she discover their secret in time to stop Dr. Janot, whose Connected Reality vision threatens to transform the human experience forever?

Murder is Ugly

When Jinx Delaney accepted an invitation from her friend, Brynn Brookefield, to spend the summer with her and her family, she expected a relaxed, fun, horse-filled getaway. However, upon her arrival at the Brookefield’s exclusive community, she begins to suspect that not everything is as perfect as the members of the wealthy, picturesque neighborhood would like her to believe.

Jinx finds herself embroiled in a web of suspense and deceit as a series of grisly crimes sweeps through the community, revealing dark secrets and tearing apart the residents’ seemingly perfect lives. As neighbor turns against neighbor, Jinx begins to realize that when it comes to high society, murder really is ugly.

Set against a backdrop of a historic, Old South community and a high class horse barn, McNaughton weaves a riveting tale of murder and suspense, filled to the brim with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end, while skillfully painting the ironic tale of a community whose beauty lies only skin deep.

In addition to writing, Lynne works as a marketing coordinator and technical writer. From the Author:

My childhood was wonderfully impacted by numerous epic fantasy books, such as C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia, Terry Brooks’ Shannara series, Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern series, and of course, J.R.R. Tolkien’s tales of Middle-earth, to name a few. Stories of hobbits, dragons, elves, and the ever-worsening villains who plagued them enchanted my imagination, delivering hours of entertainment and countless daydreams. This is the type of experience I hope to deliver to a new generation of young fantasy readers with my Silvenfare series.
